Peer support.

Peer support is an approach centered around empowerment, encouragement, and mutual understanding. Our Peer Support Specialists are individuals who have personally experienced the trials of mental health challenges and are well positioned in navigating the path of recovery.

This shared background fosters a deep connection, creating a safe space where individuals feel seen, heard, and understood as they embark on their journey to wellness. Peer support is not about "helping" in the traditional sense. It is a partnership where individuals are empowered to make their own choices, find their unique strengths, and take the lead in their recovery.

Coverage and access.

Peer support is covered by Medicaid, ensuring accessibility for individuals seeking this transformative, person-centered service. At present, peer support is not covered by private insurance providers, though private pay options are available.

Empowerment and Independence

The goal of peer support is to help you tap into your own strengths, empowering you to take charge of your journey. Together, you will explore practical strategies, set achievable goals, and build the resilience to navigate life on your terms.

Co-Located services.

WestWind is proud to partner with the Kellogg School District to bring mental health services directly into the school environment. By embedding our clinicians where students already spend their days, we reduce barriers to access and make it easier for young people to get the support they need.

Our co-located model is built around the belief that mental health care should meet people where they are, both physically and emotionally. By bringing services into a trusted, familiar setting, we help remove the stigma and logistical hurdles that often prevent students from seeking help.

"When students can access mental health support at school, they are more likely to seek help early, stay in class, and thrive academically and socially."

School-Based Services

We partner with schools to bring mental health support directly to students. By embedding clinicians in educational settings, we help young people access care during the school day, removing transportation and scheduling barriers.

Community Integration

Our co-located model allows us to embed services within trusted community organizations, making mental health care feel less clinical and more accessible to individuals who might not otherwise seek support.

CBRS Skill Building

Community-Based Rehabilitation Services focus on building everyday life skills for individuals with mental health challenges. Our skill builders work in community settings to support independence, social connection, and daily functioning.
