About Heather.

Heather Branstetter is a third-generation Silver Valley resident with a deep commitment to helping meet the needs of those who live in Shoshone County. She earned her master's degree in counseling from Concordia University and has accumulated a decade of experience providing mental health support services, beginning in community-based work. After seven years as a K-12 school counselor, Heather transitioned to professional clinic-based counseling. Approaches she uses include cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT and DBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and mindfulness-based practices.

Heather believes we can all live healthy, abundant, and fulfilling lives with integrity. Her goal as a therapist is to help relieve suffering and improve quality of life for all individuals. She offers confidential, ethical, and honest treatment within a judgment-free zone. She values and respects her clients' independence, and provides services with empathy and flexibility, altering her approach to fit each person's unique needs and preferences. Heather offers online video counseling according to your preference, even if your home is just down the street. Do you need to see someone outside of typical working hours? She is available to see people later in the day and on a weekend day when needed.

Heather operates out of the understanding that mental health is health, and we all deserve an opportunity to thrive. She looks forward to helping facilitate change from a holistic perspective with an awareness of the unique issues that impact those of us who live in the Silver Valley. Our community is important to Heather, who is a volunteer and advocate for those who need help connecting to resources and services. In her time away from work, she can be found in the woods hiking, skiing, biking, camping, and whitewater rafting, often with her two dogs by her side. She also loves to learn and is an avid reader, local historian, and writer. She is thrilled to be a part of the WestWind team in Osburn and is excited to help offer improved access to mental health services here.
